External Implants
BioHorizons introduction of the External Implant in 1997, represented a turning point in the design of dental implants. The External Implant design offers the surgeon maximum benefits in the routine cases and the most challenging cases, while providing the patient and surgeon with the results that exceed expectations. External implants feature the time-proven square-thread design shown to provide higher bone-to-implant contact and reverse-torque values than competitive designs. The intuitive layout of the Surgical Kit makes following the surgical sequence a snap. Innovative drills featuring built-in depth stops and non end-cutting geometry greatly increase surgical confidence and safety. The implants feature parallel-walls for ease of placement, with an apical taper to help accommodate undercuts and convergent roots.
