Dr Shabnam Zai
Dr. Shabnam Zai is a dentist, practice owner, mentor, and advocate for empowering women in dentistry. Since qualifying from Newcastle University in 2023 and completing her MSc in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry, Dr. Zai has cultivated a diverse and impactful career in both NHS and private dentistry, including nearly a decade on Wimpole Street.
In 2018, she successfully established her own private dental practice in London, gaining firsthand experience in squat practice ownership. This inspired her to coach dentists, particularly women, on strategies to improve their professional success and personal well-being. She also runs a popular course, “How to Set Up Your Own Squat Practice,” offering insights from a woman’s perspective.
As a speaker at dental conferences and host of the podcast Filling the Gap, Dr. Zai shares expert advice and practical tips she wishes she had before embarking on her own practice ownership journey. She believes in delivering ethical dentistry, helping others become better leaders, and building more fulfilled careers while navigating the unique challenges of the dental profession.
