At MediMatch, we’ve refined our digital denture workflow so your patients can walk out with a fully fitted denture in as few as two clinical visits. No trial appointments. No unnecessary delays. Just an accurate, comfortable, great-looking result driven by digital scanning workflow and 3D Printing.
Here’s everything you need to know to get started.
Teaching Your Team to Do Digital Dentures
Offering 2-appointment digital dentures works best when your whole team understands the workflow. Dental nurses, treatment coordinators and clinical support staff all play a role in how smoothly a case runs from start to finish.
🦷
Dentists and Specialists
Leading clinical record taking, case planning and final fit. Scan quality and occlusal registration are key.
👩⚕️
Dental Nurses
Supporting intraoral scanning, capturing facial reference photos, managing lab file submissions and ensuring prescriptions are complete.
Two Appointments. Three Starting Points.
Choose the workflow that best suits your patient. All three follow the same 2-appointment structure and are submitted digitally to MediMatch.
Option 1
Replica Denture Workflow
Best for patients who are happy with the appearance, fit or bite of their existing denture
Appointment 1:
Scan and Records
Scan the patient’s existing denture outside the mouth covering all surfaces, then scan it in the mouth to capture the bite relationship. This allows the lab to digitally replicate the current fit, tooth position and occlusion.
Appointment 2:
Fit and Issue
The finished digital denture is delivered ready to fit with minimal adjustment. Patients benefit from a familiar feel with the precision and durability of a modern digital workflow.
Option 2
Reference Denture Workflow
Ideal where improvements to aesthetics, fit or function are needed alongside an existing denture
Appointment 1:
Scan and Clinical Records
Using the existing denture, take a wash impression and scan it outside the mouth covering all surfaces, then scan in the mouth to capture the bite. Note required changes on the prescription (e.g. teeth size or shade). The wash impression improves fit, and your detailed instructions will meet patient expectations.
Appointment 2:
Fit and Issue
The new denture is produced using a fully digital workflow and delivered ready for fit. Adjustments to tooth position, vertical dimension or smile design are incorporated before manufacture.
Option 3
Immediate Denture Workflow
For patients requiring extractions and immediate tooth replacement with a streamlined digital workflow
Appointment 1:
Pre-Operative Records
Pre-operative scans, bite registration and clinical instructions are captured before extraction. The denture is digitally designed around the planned treatment and prepared in advance of the surgical appointment.
Appointment 2:
Extraction and Denture Fit
Following extractions, the immediate denture is fitted the same day to maintain aesthetics, function and patient confidence. Relying on pre-operative scans, occlusion is maintained and outcomes are predictable with reduced turnaround times.
